- About Me:
- During the work week, I am the founder and CEO of 1000 Markets, Inc.,a Seattle- and Orcas-based company focused on providing artisan and cottage enterprises with the tools to quickly and easily open online storefronts which can be self-organized into themed marketplaces. The site will be launched in the summer of 2008.
I am also on the national Board of Directors for the Trust for Public Land, a national non-profit that is helping our community save Judd Cove. I am also the Chairman of a conservation-based sustainable housing developer in Santa Fe, NM (Gallisteo Basin Preserve) .
I am a member of the Orcas Green Business Alliance and I serve on the San Juan County Economic Development Council.
I enjoy my life on Orcas with my wife, Lisa, my son, Alexander, and our four pets. My favorite spot on the island is the beach at Obstruction Pass (go on a sunny weekday!)

The frame is, What are opportunities we may be overlooking to turn our liabilities - isolated, high cost of living, low affordable housing, mainland dependence for goods and services - into assets by realigning assets we know we have - many more elders (experienced, mentors, investor class), ample internet biz potential, a great quality of life, multi-niche processes that can make more local jobs...
You know this! I am stoked to see what you come up with.
My focus is in looking at how living systems live to always maintain the healthiest perpetual balance simultaneously for the individual and the collective, to compare and contrast this to the way we are living as a part of this system, and how we can move consciously into an economy that works like the ecology (ans must). This is a very abstract stroke at it, but it will be more down to earth than this summary.
